Initial non-destructive partial disassembly for cleaning and exploration under the cooktop. Notice the picture that shows why one burner didn't work for a couple years. The last pictures show that I did get it back together.

There was many years of burnt on residue, but it cleaned up pretty well. If nothing else at least it got a good cleaning.   The wiring is in dire need of replacement, and even though found the broken wire on the one element, it still doesn't work fully.   I'm guessing I got a bad infinite switch.
